Since 2012 Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) has delivered a cycle training programme primarily to adults (although the age limit was reduced to 12 a few years ago as long as under 16’s are accompanied by an adult).

This programme has evolved over the years and currently consists of a range of activity (see below) which is delivered by a freelance team of instructors and third-party contractors, with all administration undertaken by TfGM.

• 1-2-1 on-demand sessions

• Family on-demand sessions

• Learn to Ride – Group

• Road Rider Ready – Group

• Basic Maintenance – Group

• Intermediate Maintenance – Group

• Safe Urban Driver - Group

Due to reorganisation within TfGM and consideration of targets and audiences for cycle training we are reviewing the current delivery model for cycle training provision within Greater Manchester.

The purpose of this market sounding is to enable TfGM to gain a better understanding of the potential suppliers in the region and their capacity / interest in delivering a cycle training programme on behalf of TfGM and the 10 Local Authorities.
