two.2.4) Description of the procurement
CITB wishes to secure services from a Provider, to develop, identify, evaluate, and increase the number and quality of work tasters specific to the construction industry in Scotland.
The provider will need to engage with the employer led Developing Young Workforce initiatives like ‘Build your Future’, Skills Development Scotland (SDS), The 32 Scottish Local Authorities, Colleges Scotland and secondary schools throughout the duration of the commission.
All aspects of the commission must ensure the work tasters support individuals, sectors and companies and assess whether these are appropriate for their locality (recognising the geographically diversity of Scotland).
The approximate value of the commission is £300,000 which is estimated to run over a 3-year term.
This proof-of-concept funding includes a final year where the provider is required to evaluate and where possible recommend to SDS, Education Scotland and Construction Employers on the merits and risks of tasters based on delivery of over 2,800 Tasters.
The Provider will be expected to continue the embedding process beyond the term of this contract with a view to becoming self sustained
