The webinar has been organised to inform the market about a procurement opportunity for providing Personal Dental Services (PDS)* within Oswestry, Shropshire. Details relating to the proposed procurement in brief as follow:

(*PDS has been defined in detail under standard clauses for Personal Dental Services agreement published by the Department of Health in July 2018 https://www.england.nhs.uk/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/standard-clauses-for-a-personal-dental-services-agreement-2018.pdf)

• Proposed contract length: 7 years + up to further 3 years extension (depending upon satisfactory annual performance reviews) = 10 years

• Potential activity levels:

 In contractual year one ~ 14,000 UDAs (Units of Dental Activity),

 In contractual year two ~ 19,000 UDAs,

 From contractual year three onwards ~ 24,000 UDAs*

*There may be flexibility to support the delivery of 24,000 UDAs earlier than the third year of contract; subject to the commissioner having availability of funds, patient demand and available workforce.

• Proposed surgery opening hours: Core hours 09:00 to 17:00 Monday to Friday, with additional hours to meet patient access expectations as and when they may arise.

• Estimated Contract Value: As of January 2022, £27.33 was paid per UDA*. Based on that rate it is anticipated that the annual contract value from third year onwards will be £655,920.00 per annum.

*Rate paid per UDA may change due to DDRB’s (Doctors' and Dentists' Remuneration Body) recommended pay.

• Proposed assistance with the mobilisation cost: A maximum contribution of £100,000 will be paid in the first year of contract to cover the initial one-off mobilisation and set-up costs. This will be in addition to the anticipated annual contract value for the first year.

• Anticipated service commencement date: 01st April 2023

NOTE:

• An expression of interest in response to this notice will not automatically entitle your involvement in any future procurement exercise that may take in relation to the opportunity described here with. Any procurement conducted as a result of this notice will be advertised separately. All organisations wanting to participate will need to respond to the procurement advertisement as and when it is published.

• Please note the deadline for responses is by 4 pm on Friday 11th February 2022.
