The Scheme is a priority activity within the Valleys Regional Park action plan, has been endorsed by the Valleys Taskforce and is funded by the Rural Development Fund.
The creation of a small cohort of Guardians will augment and build on the activities of community connectors already within public and third sector organisations across our Valleys. The prime objective of the Guardians Scheme is to better connect individuals and communities with the natural and cultural assets of our valleys through wellbeing, learning and volunteering opportunities. Guardians Scheme opportunities offer social, cultural and economic benefits as well as addressing environmental challenges.
