Utilising Grizedale forest as the stunning canvas which creates dark skies, we are seeking an ambitious partner to create the first astronomy attraction in the Lake District National Park. This will stimulate and grow year-round visitation, creating direct high-quality jobs and stimulate interest in celebrating, protecting and enhancing the dark skies of Cumbria. In addition to outdoor spaces within the forest, the supplier will be able to make use of existing indoor spaces within The Yan building at Grizedale, which can provide events space, office, toilets, kitchen and equipment storage areas. Prospective suppliers are invited to express an interest in this opportunity and have a initial site visit and conversation with our Grizedale Recreation & Business Manager ahead of the tender documents being published in early May 2024.
