NHS Northamptonshire Integrated Care Board (NICB) are seeking a provider for a Countywide Community-based Specialist Level Palliative and End of Life Care Service for Adults.
The Northamptonshire Integrated Care Service Palliative and End of Life Care Strategy (2023 – 2026) aligns with the National Ambitions for P&EoLC (2021) by setting out a clear vision and priorities, aiming to improve the quality of life of all-age individuals who are living with a life limiting condition, as well as that of their caregivers, family and friends.
The local vision is to ensure individuals, their caregivers, family, and friends receive patient-centred, dignified, and compassionate P&EoLC, aided by the ability to easily access information (in an appropriate format), advice, and support that is coordinated, and where specific choices are respected.
The P&EoLC Strategy also focuses on the system benefits which consist of the following:
• Improved coordination of service delivery.
• Increased local health and care professionals’ knowledge and confidence in caring for individuals who are end of life.
• Improved partnership working with all organisations.
• Increased local health and care professionals’ skills, motivation, and achievements in being able to deliver high-quality palliative care.
• Improved wellbeing for all care professionals across the system.
