two.2.4) Description of the procurement
The Provision of Inspection and Repair & Maintenance of Chemical tanks. The Scope of Work shall include for all works predominantly associated with Inspection, Repair and Maintenance of various types of Chemical Tanks.
Over an estimated period of 3 – 4 years, United Utilities is undertaking a detailed programme of work to ensure compliance at many of its operational sites. Services will be completed on wastewater and clean water treatment facilities and pumping stations throughout the North West of England.
United Utilities is looking to procure Chemical Tanks services. By undertaking pre market research, the Company can then evaluate the current market capability.
Scope of Services to include but not limited to:
• Above ground External Inspections on operational (in-service) – chemical, fuel and biological waste tanks
• Above ground Internal inspections on non-operational (out of service) - chemical, fuel and biological waste tanks
• Underground fuel tanks.
On storage tanks of varying material types, plastics and steel and the associated bunds.
Using varied, demonstrable inspection methods to accommodate for size, location and accessibility of tanks.
The programme of work will also encompass the proactive and reactive Repair and Maintenance of Chemical Tanks and may typically include but not be limited to
• Repair to tank lining
• Repair of associated pipework
• Tank welding to fix defects/cracks/leaks
• Repairs for UV damage/corrosion (repainting)
• Repairs to bunds
