SEND mediation arrangements are set out in Children and Families Act 2014 which apply specifically to parents and young people who are considering appealing to the Tribunal about EHC needs assessments and the special educational element of an EHC plan or who want mediation on the health and social care elements of an EHC plan.

The Children and Families Act 2014 requires all local authorities to make arrangements for parents and young people to receive information about mediation so that they can take part in mediation if they so choose before a possible appeal to the Tribunal.

This is a recurrent procurement: No

The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement.

Please note this is a DPS therefore the time limit for receipt of tenders at section IV.2.2) is initially 30 days, The DPS will be open for 4 years from 30th May 2022 to 30th May 2026. The Council reserves the right to extend or shorten this duration and if so, will issue a Contract Notice to indicate it’s intentions.

Evaluations will be undertaken quarterly for the first year of the DPS and this will then reduce to twice yearly for the remainder of the DPS. The initial tranche of evaluations will be completed by 1st April 2022.
