The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency is a Government Trading Fund and an Executive Agency of the Department of Health and Social Care established on 1 April 2003. We protect and improve the health of millions of people every day through the effective regulation of medicines and medical devices, underpinned by science and research. The National Institute for Biological Standards and Control (NIBSC) is a centre of the Agency.
This project is set out to replace the cage washers located within the Biological Standards Departmental building of the NIBSC. There are two floor standing cage washers required initially with another one to follow at a later stage. The cage washers must be suitable for use within Life Sciences industry and the software for the cycles must be open source (It must be available for interrogation and modification by service providers within the industry).

National Institute for Biological Standards and Control (NIBSC)
The institute is a world leader in assuring the quality of biological medicines through product testing, developing standards and reference materials and carrying out applied research. This project is set out to replace the cage washers located within the Biological Standards Departmental building of the NIBSC. There are two floor standing cage washers required initially with another one to follow at a later stage. The cage washers must be suitable for use within Life Sciences industry and the software for the cycles must be open source (It must be available for interrogation and modification by service providers within the industry).
Key information on what the cage washers shall be required to do is listed below; this list is not exhaustive:

1. Cycles for washing material type - Plastics (Polycarbonate, polypropylene and Polysulfone)
2. Cycle for washing material type - Wood
