two.1.4) Short description

The Institute is looking to issue tender invitations for a turnkey design and build Pilot Scale Reheating Furnace, sized approx ID 2x2x3m, and installed within the Institute's Normanton Pilot Plant Building. The furnace should be capable of demonstrating the substitution of natural gas with hydrogen for reheating iron and steel stock as well as other metals, i.e., capable of controlled heat up and hold around 1200OC and beyond.

To further ensure that you fully grasp the requirements of such an installation, we ask that you specify mechanisms to ensure that the provision will comply with ALL relevant UK Standards, Codes of Practice, Industry Best Practice and all legislative drivers including the wide remit of Health and Safety requirements needed to deliver a fully compliant project, we ask that you advise us what standards and specifications are being worked to in order to achieve full compliance . Your demonstration of this will be a section that carries a high score towards the final figure.
