two.2.4) Description of the procurement
Marine Directorate has a requirement to place a contract with a supplier for the purchase of Scientific Echosounder Systems for MRV Scotia.
The MRV Scotia, is currently equipped with an aging, ( 20+ years), suite of scientific echosounders operating at 4 individual frequencies. The current system is now unsupported in terms of replacement components. Although currently operational, some of the channels are showing signs of water ingress into cables. The transducers are mounted on the retractable drop keel which allows easy access to them in port when raised.
