Procurement of monitors for the purpose of sleep research. The research question for this project is ‘how can sleep be targeted and improved through building design?’. It aims to build our evidence base on what changes in prison design are correlated with improved sleep and in turn improve quality of life (reducing those negative aspects of prison life mentioned above).
We are measuring four design variables impacted by design – noise, light, temperature and humidity – to see what impact these have on sleep.
