two.1.4) Short description

Supported Lodgings Cheshire West and Chester Council aims to provide a Supported Lodging Accommodation Service. This will be available to 16-17-year-old care leavers as defined by The Children (Leaving Care) Act 2000 and at the discretion of the council homeless young people and any others may be supported to access a supported lodging. Young People will be placed in accommodation that best meets their needs and helps them to develop their independent skills safely. The delivery of supported lodgings accommodation for young people to be provided within the Cheshire West and Chester borough. The service will be available to eligible young people aged 16 to 17 years who will have the option to remain in the Supported Lodgings once they turn 18 years. This will be mutually agreed between the young person and the host. Documents are all available on the Chest, www.the-chest.org.uk please register your interest and download The supported lodgings service provides accommodation for young people who reside within the 'host' own residence, with the 'host' being regarded as a role model and mentor to the young person/s. The service will recruit suitable hosts who provide accommodation within their own home, induct the hosts, and provide on-going support to ensure the accommodation for young people who will be matched by the Provider to a suitable lodging host.
