Network Rail intends to award a non rail plant framework for its routes contained within Eastern region.
In brief, the framework is expected to cover the hire of machine drivers, machine controllers, operatives, work site fitters, tree chippers, backhoe loaders, tipper trucks, van/pick-up trucks, mini diggers, dumpers, dozers, rollers, flatbed trailers and skid steer loaders.
Due to a lack of historical rates available, a PIN has been issued to establish current market offerings and what Eastern should expect of the supply chain.
Network Rail intends to issue a call for competition within the first four months of 2024. It is envisaged the framework will be implemented for a minimum of five years with an option to extend the framework for a further year, if required.
