Leicestershire County Council invites pharmacy service providers to submit proposals for the establishment of a comprehensive Pharmacy Services Framework. This Framework is being re-opened and aims to consolidate three key services:
Lot 1: Flu Vaccinations for Council Staff:
- Provide seasonal flu vaccination services for Leicestershire County Council staff.
- Ensure timely and efficient delivery of vaccinations during flu season.
- Maintain the highest standards of safety and professionalism.
Lot 2: Emergency Hormonal Contraception (EHC):
- Offer accessible and confidential emergency hormonal contraception services.
- Provide expert guidance and support to individuals in need of these services.
- Emphasise discretion and sensitivity in service delivery.
Lot 3: Nicotine Replacement Therapy:
- Deliver evidence-based nicotine replacement therapy to support smoking cessation.
- Promote a smoke-free environment by assisting individuals in their journey to quit smoking.
- Ensure the availability of a range of NRT products and tailored cessation plans.

Leicestershire County Council are offering a flu vaccination to all of its employees. This scheme is intended to be an extension of the NHS provision for 2023-2024. The NHS offer seasonal flu vaccination to protect those at higher risk of flu associated morbidity and mortality. Over 6000 employees will fall within scope of this provision.

Under this lot, the primary objectives encompass improving sexual health outcomes, facilitating broader access to Emergency Hormonal Contraception (EHC) and sexual health guidance, raising awareness about EHC and mainstream contraception among both service users and healthcare professionals, educating individuals about the risks associated with sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and directing them to suitable resources. Furthermore, this initiative is dedicated to reducing the occurrence of unplanned pregnancies by providing essential support and information to underserved/vulnerable females.
