This project requires the design and manufacture of a bespoke motorised patient positioning system, outer covers (for safety and cosmetic purposes) and a bore section that can hold a whole-body radio frequency coil and various electronic equipment such as light, microphone and others. All parts must be manufactured to a standard required for future clinical certification.

The University of Aberdeen is constructing an experimental MRI scanner for use in clinical research.
