Cardiff and Vale University Health Board (CVUHB) is one of the largest NHS organisations in the UK which provides day to day health services to a population of around 472,400 people living in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan.

Cardiff and Vale University Health Board (CVUHB) currently operates free Park and Ride Services located at one location across its estates: University Hospital of Wales (UHW)

Park and Ride Service provided for UHW.

Return service from Pentywn (Cardiff East) off the A48 (M) to UHW

Every 10 minutes 06:30 – 19:30 (Enhanced Service)

Every 20 minutes 19:30 – 23:00 (Extended Service)

The service provides Monday – Friday coverage for patients, visitors, and staff alike and is provided free of charge for staff producing their ID badges.

After discussion and review of the requirements across the health board, between procurement and the Capital, Estates and Facilities (CEF) Team, it was decided that a contract for The Park and Ride Service at UHW for a 3-year period is tendered in accordance with an Open Procedure under the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 allowing Organisations of all sizes to have the opportunity to submit a tender, increasing the opportunity for a number of innovative proposals/solutions.

By undertaking an OJEU Tender, the Health Board would ensure an open, fair, and transparent process, ensuring procurement guidelines were followed and governance implemented.
