PAN (Parent Advocacy Network) West Glamorgan, Neath Port Talbot Council and Swansea Council are currently developing ideas to create a new ‘Parent Peer Advocacy and Support Service’.

The service aims to enhance the current advocacy network through the creation of a pool of employed Parent Peer Advocates who have lived experience of the child protection or care system. They will deliver a professional standard of peer advocacy and support to parents who are going through the child protection or care system.

Interested organisations are invited to meet the service development team to learn more about the proposed service and to provide feedback to inform further service development.

A market engagement event has been arranged for Tuesday 8th February 2022. Providers who may be interested in delivering the service are invited to meet and discuss the service ideas with the service development team.

The event is an opportunity for the service development team to seek views on the relative strengths and weaknesses of the service model and to explore ways to improve service delivery which may help to inform the service specification. There will also be an opportunity for the provider to ask the team any questions it may have around the proposed service.

The format of the event will consist of 1 hour slots for each provider, which will be held virtually via Microsoft Teams. Slots will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

For providers who book to attend the event, they will receive a discussion paper which will be emailed in advance of the event.

Providers who are interested in engaging with the service development team through this event should contact Pam Morgans on the following email address ccu@npt.gov.uk or alternatively on 01639 686350 confirming they would like to attend.

The service development team may also extend the events to other days should it be required.
