The Council required a suitably experienced Contractor to service, repair and install ceiling track and mobilehoists throughout the Bradford District. The hoists will be located within a variety of properties through out the district, including domestic properties, residential homes, leisure centres and respite centres. The contract
will be managed by the Council's Corporate Lifts Section and may be used by a range of officers around the Councilwho are responsible for adaptations.

The original contract was due to expire on 31st March 2021 but it will be extended to 31st March 2022.

Need for modification brought about by circumstances which a diligent contracting authority/entity could not foresee.
Description of the circumstances which rendered the modification necessary and explanation of the unforeseen nature of these circumstances:
Though the current and ongoing Covid-19 pandemic started in March 2020 its implications have resulted in the Council's resources being focussed on response and recovery actions, and as such some planned procurements are delayed, these delays stem from the unforeseen implications of the Covid-19 pandemic. The nature of the contract is not changed by the additional extension, the requirement remains the servicing and repair of lifting and hoisting equipment needed by vulnerable people to assist them to live more independently (and outside of care settings).
