Lincolnshire County Council is working on the re-commissioning of the Healthwatch Service.
This service is statutory as Local authorities with adult social care responsibilities are required, under “the Act” (Health and Social Care Act 2012), to commission a local Healthwatch service covering the local authority area. The Act also makes provision for contractual arrangements between local authorities and their local Healthwatch organisation, however, it allows flexibility for councils to choose the commissioning route that offers the best value for money in their communities.
The aim of the Service is to give people in Lincolnshire a greater say in how the health and care system works.
The Provider is expected to be responsible for providing this service, liaising closely with the Council.
The service will be available to the whole population of Lincolnshire.
