Buckinghamshire Council (BC), in partnership with the Buckinghamshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), are looking to procure a contract to provide the care and support service for a placement for a 14-year-old male (the client) with complex needs. The client is currently in a semi-secure hospital placement but has been assessed as ready for discharge into the community with a Care Plan for him to transition to a Residential Children’s Home.
The provider will be responsible for the delivery of the contracted care and support service for the client within a joint Ofsted and CQC registered setting. The property in the Aylesbury area will be developed by the local authority and leased to the provider for the period of the contract. The provider will need to work closely with the health, social care and education services to meet the client’s social, educational and medical needs.
The placement will be jointly funded by the CCG and BC’s social care and education departments with Buckinghamshire Council acting as the lead commissioning organisation. Given the complex nature of this young person and the need to develop an effective partnership with a provider, this procurement is seeking a block contract for a minimum of three years with an option to extend twice by a further 2 years. The contract start date is proposed as 7 June 2021.
