This Prior Information Notice has been published to inform the market of the forthcoming tender opportunity for a Kennelling Service for Seized/Dangerous Dogs to Kent Police and Essex Police.
Overview of services to be provided
•The collection, transportation and kennelling of seized/dangerous dogs.
•The collection of seized/dangerous dogs seized by police under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 (or other legislation) from a police station or designated pick-up point within the counties.
•The kennelling of seized/dangerous dogs.
•The local authority may not place any dog under this contract.
•Kennelling of detained person dogs.
•Kennelling of person dogs, which are considered by the Authority, not to be a menace.
•The provision of adequate and secure shelter, food and healthcare for animals placed in the custody of the kennel.
•A `24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year` service provision must be provided for with collection within 2hours and 30 minutes of original request.
It is anticipated that any contract will run for a period of three years from 1st November 2021 with the option to extend for a further period of two years in twelve-month increments.
