Northern Ireland Electricity Networks Limited (NIE Networks) has a requirement for the supply of network Flexibility services from customers connected within specific geographic areas (Flexibility Trial Zones, FTZs). Successful Tenderers will provide NIE Networks with network Flexibility services, the ability to adjust their aggregate electricity generation or consumption in response to a signal from NIE Networks during defined Service Windows, supporting network operation during the FLEX trial. Each Flexibility Trial Zone is represented by a separate geographical Lot. There are 17 Lots in total. NIE Networks would like to invite Flexibility Providers to visit the Piclo website www.picloflex.com/dashboard where they can register their assets and find out more information regarding NIE Networks’ requirements. Information regarding this opportunity can also be found on NIE Networks' Flexibility Services Website www.flexibility@nienetworks.co.uk.

two.2.4) Description of the procurement
NIE Networks owns the Northern Ireland electricity transmission and distribution network and operates the electricity distribution network which transports electricity to over 880,000 customers.
Northern Ireland Electricity Networks Limited (NIE Networks) has a requirement for the supply of network Flexibility services from customers connected within specific geographic areas (Flexibility Trial Zones, FTZs). Successful Tenderers will provide NIE Networks with network Flexibility services, the ability to adjust their aggregate electricity generation or consumption in response to a signal from NIE Networks during defined Service Windows, supporting network operation during the FLEX trial. NIE Networks would like to invite Flexibility Providers to visit the Piclo website www.picloflex.com/dashboard where they can register their assets and find out more information regarding NIE Networks’ requirements. NIE Networks will be provided with a list of Flexibility Providers who have registered an asset on the Piclo website. The Flexibility Providers who do register an asset on the Piclo website will be sent an e-mail from NIE Networks' informing them of the launch date for this procurement exercise and asking them to register on eSourcingNI. NIE Networks are holding a Flexible Services launch webinar on 15th February at 2pm, and information regarding this opportunity can also be found on NIE’s flexibility services website: https://www.nienetworks.co.uk/flexibility.The procurement of network Flexibility services will be launched under a separate procurement process.
Please note a separate call for competition in the form of an FTS contract notice will be published on eSourcing NI. Any interested parties will still be required to apply separately when launched and registering an asset on the Piclo Platform shall in no way be accepted as registering an interest. Additionally, registering an asset on the Piclo Platform will not be a pre-requisite in relation to the future tender competition.
