Foundation model AI has the potential to transform education. The capability of large language models are in part determined by the content that they draw from. Through hackathons with the education sector, we found that standard LLMs weren't aligned with national standards and weren't ready for use in schools.
We believe that there is significant potential value in making education content available in a more appropriate machine-readable format and structure, and encouraging the development of innovative tools based upon this content, in order to improve the performance of AI for education.
