The Worcestershire Carers Strategy seeks to place carers at the heart of Worcestershire’s families and communities. It includes three outcomes which carers have identified as being relevant to them, - Being recognised and valued - Having a life of my own - Being supported to maintain my physical and mental wellbeing. The provision of ‘replacement care’ (also known as respite care or short breaks) is important in ensuring each of these outcomes can be achieved. The Council is planning to publish a tender for approximately 24 beds for residential (without nursing) replacement care for older people (65+), through a framework/DPS arrangement - details to be confirmed at the point of tendering.
