This notice is placed as a Prior Information Notice (PIN) to seek expressions of interest in being considered as the most suitable provider for the delivery of a Postvention Service within the Swindon and Wiltshire locality on behalf of NHS Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire Integrated Care Board.

It should be noted that the incumbent provider is providing a good service, and it is deemed that they would be the most suitable provider to continue to provide these services and the least disruptive solution for current service users for an interim 7 months whilst BSW undertake a full competitive process under PSR to appoint a suitably qualified provider for a longer-term provision.

The Postvention service provides suicide bereavement support for individuals close to, or that were in contact with the person who took their life offering individual personalised support sessions (psychosocial/emotional support and practical support).

Through a tiered support model, the service enables service user (SU) support as they move through the service at differing intensity levels. Timeframes are adjustable based on SU needs and service demand. Whilst close family and friends (suicide bereaved) may need longer periods of support, colleagues or neighbours (suicide exposed) may need shorter periods supporting capacity management within the service.

Individuals may extend support if needed with exit support including jointly developed exit plans outlining services, coping strategies and emergency numbers; providing self-help materials; encouraging peer-led group attendance; referring individuals for further support; and completing monthly telephone check-ins for six months and on e.g., anniversary of suicide and other anniversaries/birthdays following service user consent.

The service will primarily run on weekdays, delivering flexibly up to 8pm to suit SUs in employment or education and offer pre-arranged weekend sessions if needed.

The service will provide an SU-led whole-community approach tailored to SU and community needs tailoring support based on assessment/support planning including:

Individual Support: personalised support sessions
