two.2.4) Description of the procurement
The scope of this QS is for the supply and delivery of High Pressure fittings as outlined in the lots below, for use on the Transmission and Distribution Networks and pressure reduction and metering installations for GNI Ireland and GNI (UK), up to a maximum operating pressure equal to 150bar barg.
Background;
For further information, Gas Networks Ireland (GNI) owns and operates the Irish natural gas network incorporating approximately 2,000km of steel transmission (Tx) pipeline and approximately 11,000km of PE distribution (Dx) pipelines along with 170 AGI's, 841 DRI's,26,861 Industrial Commercial (I/C) and 638,027 domestic meters.
The transmission system is linked to the UK and the Continental gas markets through two sub-sea interconnector pipelines and via 2 no. Compressor Stations located in Scotland. The Pressure range of the GNI networks varies from 148bar for the subsea interconnectors to mbar supplies for I/C & domestic customer supplies.
This framework will be split into a total of four Lots:
• Lot 1: Forged Fittings (welded tees, tees, bends, end caps)
• Lot 2: Insulation Joints
• Lot 3: Stopple Fittings
• Lot 4: Flanges & Branch Fittings

Five years from the date of its establishment unless terminated earlier by the Contracting Entity, with an annual option to extend for a further five years by sending a notice to all of the Qualified Applicants.
