Explanation:
Public Health Wales utilise the Starlet and Nimbus platforms across the laboratory network as the main medium throughput platforms for Covid-19 testing.
It has been confirmed by the manufacturer the analysers have a 7-year life expectancy therefore planned preventative maintenance is required for the remainder of the lifespan. NWSSP Procurement Services cannot identify a Framework Agreement that can be used to award this contract.
For the reasons outlined above and to ensure continuity of the analyser maintenance, PHW have no option but to enter in to an agreement without any formal underpinning Framework Agreement for a 36 month period.
