Rhondda Cynon Taf established the RCT Resilient Families Programme in 2017 to demonstrate its commitment to the wider early intervention and prevention agenda and engage the Council’s public, private and third sector partners in and secure their commitment to the agenda in line with the principles of the Social Services and Wellbeing (Wales) Act 2014 and The Wellbeing of Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015.

The Resilient Families Service was established in 2018 to provide direct support to families requiring early intervention and intensive intervention as part of the Integrated Family Support Framework. Sat within Children’s Services and delivering enhanced Team Around the Family functions the Resilient Families Service provides the mechanism by which a single approach to delivering multi-agency family support is achieved in RCT.

The RCT Integrated Parenting Framework provides a structure for the delivery of parenting support services in RCT. The Framework established in 2017 and revised as a three-stage model in 2020, groups parenting support interventions within 3 distinct levels: informal, formal and specialist.
