two.1.4) Short description

Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) currently hosts 2 data centres over 2 geographically sperate locations. These sites have resilient 10Gb layer 2 connectivity. Our current data centre equipment is approaching its end of useable life and we are looking to replace this.

Our data centres runs in an active-active state across the 2 sites. Services are split between the 2 to provide resilience. The solution is currently made up of 2 Flexpod deployments which consists of Cisco UCS, NetApp and VMware.

GMCA is looking to replace the compute and storage elements of the data centre with new NetApp and Dell hardware (the required hardware is outlined in section 4). This includes professional services for installation and elements of migration of the new solution.

GMCA require the solution to be covered for support and maintenance over a 5 year contracted period. This includes hardware replacement, monitoring and alerting.
