two.2.4) Description of the procurement
NRW is intending to award a 4 year Framework Agreement contract commencing 01 August 2024 to a Contractor that can supply two Drivers to operate a Wetland Harvester (PistenBully) and attachments. The Contractor will also need to provide undercover storage, carryout routine maintenance and transport the machine between sites of operation and the storage facility. Operative training will be arranged by NRW if required.
The PistenBully machine will play a key role in the restoration works for NRW and partners - the control of a dominant plant species: Purple moor grass (Molinea caerulea)
along with some sedge and other biomass, at sites which are predominantly SAC (Special Areas of Conservation) and peatland restoration sites.
This PistenBully is a self-propelled, compact, low ground pressure, tracked machine which carries a range of implements for cutting and harvesting wetland vegetation, chipping timber and herbicide application, as detailed below and described in the enclosed specification documents.
