seven.2) Information about modifications

seven.2.1) Description of the modifications

Nature and extent of the modifications (with indication of possible earlier changes to the contract):

1. The Contract was modified due to unforeseen circumstances during the Covid-19 pandemic under Regulation 72(1)(c). The modifications did not alter the overall nature of the Contract.
2. There has been additional spend due to the unexpected volume of BAU services that became necessary and was not anticipated in the original Contract value under Regulation 72(1)(b). The Authority could not change the contractor due to economic and technical reasons and to do so would have caused significant inconvenience, duplication of cost, to the Authority, and disruption sufficient to risk public health harm during the Covid-19 pandemic.
3. The Authority has exercised its contractual right to extend the 60 month initial term for two periods of 12 months each under Regulation 72(1)(a).

4. The Authority will also be using the contractual termination assistance period of up to a maximum of 24 months to ensure service continuity while it reprocures, mobilises, and transitions to the replacement Contract.
5. The Authority has commenced a new procurement process for the replacement Contract - Storage & Distribution of Human Medicines, Vaccines & Associated Medical Product - Find a Tender

Need for modification brought about by circumstances which a diligent contracting authority/entity could not foresee.
