This is to award the contract for the Education.

The education sector facilitator will play a key role in supporting the Department in delivering our critical path of reform for multi-agency safeguarding partners through engagement at both a local and national level.

The individual will work as part of a core team with their health, police and LA facilitator counterparts whose priorities will be set by the cross-government governance structures.

Scope of role:

• Work with the education sector to support them to develop their increased role as relevant agencies.

• Work with local areas to strengthen the role of education in multi-agency leadership, including in early help, child protection and local safeguarding arrangements.

• Provide the department with sector-based intelligence and expertise to aid policy development and updates to guidance.

• Support the department to undertake the consultation (January 2024) on possible legislative changes which will include whether or how to make Education a 4th safeguarding partner.

• Lead/ play a key part in setting up and running the Expert Working Group on how to strengthen the role of education in multi-agency leadership.

• Build positive relationships within the education sector, promoting CSC reform activities and an understanding how reforms to multi-agency safeguarding arrangements affect them.

• Identify and share best practice, provide challenge and support to local areas to build effective strategic safeguarding arrangements with existing safeguarding partners and relevant agencies.
