two.2.4) Description of the procurement
Kent and Medway Towns Fire Authority (“the Authority”) is seeking to conduct early market engagement, in the form of a Request for Information (RFI), with suppliers of rostering systems ahead of a potential procurement exercise. The system will be used to assist staff when rostering fire fighters to crew fire engines and specialist vehicles that are deployed by our Control Room to incidents. This is a critical system for the Authority as it ensures maximum availability of resources for deployment, assists with future resource planning and identifies additional resources that could utilised. The current Rostering System (Kronos) currently provides a simple data extract to the Computer Aided Dispatch system (Storm) in order that the Storm system can calculate the availability of fire engines and specialist vehicles. We are preparing for replacing our CAD, hence we are exploring the market to understand potential capabilities for greater integration with whichever CAD we opt for.
The purpose of this PIN is to engage with industry experts to better understand the market, available solutions and costs ahead of a series of decisions about the future direction of some of our operational systems. Potential suppliers are asked to visit our Kent Business Portal in order to express an interest and respond to our Request for Information (RFI) ahead of any potential procurement activity.
