MyWorld builds on the production, technology and research strengths of the Bristol & Bath creative cluster and its universities. A £46m, 5-year programme with 30 partners, built on three primary pillars: The Creative Continuum R&D framework; accessible knowledge and facilities; and sustainable and inclusive growth.

MyWorld will create a world-leading collaborative environment with innovation at its core. At the heart is its R&D framework, spanning the creative continuum of production, delivery and consumption.

State of the art research facilities, linked to existing university infrastructure, are currently being built at ‘The Sheds Research Hub’ in the University of Bristol Temple Quarter Enterprise Campus. These facilities will be coupled with an operational structure that seamlessly supports both commercial and research usage.

The University of Bristol is seeking to procure the services of a Systems Integrator to deliver the equipment design, procurement, fit-out and integration, and commissioning of The Sheds Research Studio (350m2), Production Gallery (55m2) and Edit Suites (46m2); and an Instrumented Auditorium (140m2) for audience monitoring. These facilities need to be operational by Q1 2023 to meet the MyWorld research programme.

MyWorld will enable us to address some of the big creative-technology challenges facing our sector. For example: research expertise enabling new media formats to be pioneered; building collaborative and interactive worlds with seamless interfaces between the physical and virtual; delivering these new experiences to massive audiences across networks of the future; understanding immersion and the real impact of new technologies, enabling us to create more engaging experiences; and fully exploiting the use of AI to transform the production and delivery of new experiences.
