In Wakefield, we want our emotional and mental well-being offer to support, children, young people and their families to be able to recognise their emotions and feelings and the strategies they can use to support themselves at times of difficulty and stress. The emotional and mental well being offer will support children and young people to build their own networks of support including how to seek support, from their friends, family, community and services. Wakefield wants to support children and young people early so that there is less risk of them developing long term and even life-long mental health issues. Ultimately, we want to turn the tide so that our clinical therapeutic and specialist services are required by fewer individuals in childhood and beyond.
