two.2.4) Description of the procurement

The University of Birmingham and University of Birmingham Dubai require a timetabling software system that meets the below mandatory requirements:

- The product must allow for a teaching timetable to be automatically produced and for any clashes that are generated to be resolved as much as is possible.

- The product must allow for a teaching timetable to be manually created or for an existing timetable to be manually amended.

- The product must allow for data to be imported into the system to allow for the production of an up to date timetable. In addition to adding records to the system it should be possible to update records and where appropriate delete records.

- The product must expose all of its data through an Open API infrastructure.

- The product must be 'Cloud Ready'.

- The product must allow the teaching timetable to be published by programme, by room, by staff member and by student.

- The product must allow both students and staff to see their timetables on a mobile device or tablet. It must also allow the timetable to be displayed through other media.

- The product must allow for the creation of various 'user roles' which went granted to an individual will give them specific rights to maintain or view particular parts of the application.

- The product must support single sign on.

- The product must allow for the production of an Examinations Timetable.

- The product must be fully accessible.

- The product must have the capability to support ad hoc room bookings.
