two.1.4) Short description

Norfolk County Council (NCC) is seeking to commission a number of Winter Capacity Beds (Residential) to support hospital discharges during the winter period. During the Winter period, additional beds are required to support hospital discharges and to alleviate pressures to ensure there is available bed capacity in hospital settings. NCC is seeking expressions of interest from providers who have capacity in the market and who could offer flexible and innovative solutions to providing additional capacity. We wish to commission bed provision across Norfolk, to support all three Norfolk acute hospital systems. As NCC is seeking to commission additional Short Term Bed capacity, providers will need to be appropriately CQC registered. If a provider can provide Enhanced provision, they will need to be appropriately CQC registered for Dementia. The vast majority of referrals into these beds would be to support hospital discharges. However, some individuals may require urgent/unplanned respite. NCC will support to facilitate the Discharge Process into residential settings, to help ensure admissions can take place quickly once identified and a dedicated operational team is in place to support individuals to move on from short term beds.Contract Requirements 1. All referrals to Winter Capacity beds will be made through NCC’s Brokerage Service. 2. Providers must be able to support quick hospital discharge. 3. Winter Capacity beds will only be commissioned until 31 March 2021 unless an extension period is agreed by both parties. If you would be interested in the above opportunity and have availability within your service, please contact integratedcommissioners@norfolk.gov.uk (stating ‘FAO Accommodation Commissioning Team’ in the subject line) to ask further questions/to submit an expression of interest as soon as possible. A commissioner will follow up a detailed conversation with you. Thank you for your interest. Accommodation Commissioning Team, Adult Social Care, Norfolk County Council.
