The Northern Trust are relying on 2, b, iii '(iii)the protection of exclusive rights, including intellectual property rights'.

This is the case because:

Thomas Fattorini Ltd are a manufacturing business who design and produce a quality "NHS/HSC Hero Medal" for individuals who have gone 'above and beyond' when dealing with the challenges brought by Covid-19 to Trusts and to communities. 'COVID-19 Hero Award Medal' has been designed, developed and produced by Fattorini, and the medal can only be ordered by Health Trusts, NHS Trusts, Ambulance Services and other recognised health sector organisations, and the medal is not available for purchase by individuals.

Fattorini own the design rights for the product and it is particular to health Trusts and associated organisations.
