The urgent nature of the talking the backlog, combined with staffing vaccines requires a dynamic and safe outsourced solution with the company that has existing operational protocols in place to ensure the safety and quality of the wet sample exchange.
It is planned that within the contract duration, if the requirement to continue the outsourcing is maintained due to the impacts of the pandemic, then a tendering exercise will be undertaken.

The direct award of the contract is to ensure that the backlog is tackled efficiently and with maximum standards of quality and safety.
