two.1) Scope of the procurement

two.1.4) Short description
The Contracting Authority requires the supply and installation of 32 ductless laboratory cabinets (including maintenance during their expected life) and the decommissioning of existing cabinets.
The required products are as follows;
17 x 800mm wide ductless fume cabinets
1 x 1800mm wide ductless fume cabinets
14 x 1200mm wide bio-safety cabinets - Class II
Decommissioning must be managed to ensure minimal operational impacts to the Contracting Authority and will be carried out in a manner which ensures the ethical and safe disposal of the 32 existing Labcaire (+) ductless fume hoods and class II biologic safety cabinets which have reached their end of life.
The Supplier will provide suitable replacement cabinets which meet the requirements of the Authority's Statement of Requirement performing the same functions as the current cabinets and occupying the same bench footprint, with benches designed to hold cabinets of a set weight and size only.
The Supplier will be responsible for the logistics of decommissioning thirty-two (32) cabinets and commissioning / installing thirty-two (32) cabinets over (ideally) a 6-month period.
The Supplier will also provide extensive product and H&S knowledge to ensure a smooth transition, with little or no loss of business continuity and in accordance with ISO17025 for cleaning of the equipment and laboratory.
The Supplier will ensure the Goods will meet the Authority's COSHH requirements to extract all noxious fumes and vapours from the activities they do.

The installation and commissioning and decommissioning will be required at the MPS' laboratories in Lambeth, London.
two.2.4) Description of the procurement
The Contracting Authority requires the supply and installation of 32 ductless laboratory cabinets (including maintenance during their expected life) and the decommissioning of existing cabinets.

In commissioning / decommissioning the Supplier will;
- Deep clean new equipment in accordance with UKAS ISO 17025 accredited practices, following delivery.
- Deep clean and prepare the Authority's premises (in accordance with ISO17025) in conjunction with the Authority's staff.
- Decontaminate (sterilise) current equipment prior to removal.
- Manage removal of current equipment and suitable disposal in accordance with relevant Environmental regulations.
- Install new equipment, calibrate and certify to ensure compliance with the BS EN standards specified below.
- Provide equipment awareness and training to the Authority's staff for up to 25 people.
Standards

2. The Supplier will ensure all cabinets are compliant to the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002 and should be maintained as follows:
Microbiological Safety Cabinet: The following testing procedures are in accordance with BS EN 12469:2000
Recirculating Fume Cabinet: The following testing procedures are in accordance with BS EN 7989:2001
Ducted Fume Cupboard: The following testing procedures are in accordance with BS EN 14175.
Maintenance and repair will be provided in compliance with the following timescales;
The Supplier shall resolve equipment issues within 2 Working Days of being notified of the issue by the Authority.
The Supplier shall maintain sufficient parts kept in stock so the cabinet could be put back into service as soon as a possible to minimise operational impact to the Authority.
The Supplier will provide consumable filters every two (2) years, if not required sooner.
