A contract is to be entered into for the sale of playing field land at Morgan Road, Reading, part of Reading School , and the associated development of sports pitches, associated changing facilities and access and parking arrangements on retained parts of at the site and the re-provision of new sports facilities at the School's Erleigh Road campus by the purchaser. The purchaser will also be responsible for the associated planning consultancy, project management and procurement of design, engineering and other ancillary professional services relating to the works.

Explanation:

The contract to be entered into by the awarding body is for the sale of land for development purposes and the procurement of the contract for works and services which forms the subject matter of this notice and which are to be required as a necessary consequence of the disposal of the land to the purchaser. The proposed cost of works and services has been reviewed and estimated at less than the financial threshold (£4,733,252), above which it is necessary to publish a call for competition as applicable, in accordance with Regulation 6(7), when the School as contracting authority commenced the procurement procedure.

As such, the awarding body does not consider the contract to be subject to the Regulations.
