Description

The spoil tips of the Wemyss mine site lie to the north and south of the Cwmnewydion Road.

The Nant Cwmnewydion flows along the southern edge of the spoil tips, causing them to erode and collapse.

The purpose of these works is to prevent the Nant Cwmnewydion watercourse from scouring the main Wemyss spoil tip, and mobilising metal-rich spoil into the watercourse.
