Introduction

Braintree District Council (BDC) is undertaking market engagement for the potential procurement of it's reusable sacks for recycling for commercial customers and residents of flats. Your feedback will be invaluable in helping us ensure the contract is structured in a way which delivers value for money, promotes sustainability and supports innovation. Below are key areas of interest. Please provide responses where applicable. You are not required to answer every question, please focus on areas relevant to your expertise or service offering.

Background Simpler Recycling requires that residents and businesses separate their recycling in to various streams as follows; DMR - plastic, glass, cans/Paper and Card/Food/Green waste BDC have provided bins and or boxes to residents and businesses to hold their recycling. However alternative solutions need to be sought for some commercial customer who do not have space for these receptacles as there is no provision for plastic sacks for recycling moving forward. It is therefore anticipated that some customers may require reusable sacks for these recycling streams. A solution is also being sort for resident of flats to take their recycling to their large communal bins from their property and it is BDCs intention to supply suitable reusable bags to assist these residents.
