- Wrexham County Borough Council
Procurement identifier (OCID): ocds-h6vhtk-065475
Description
Wrexham County Borough Council (WCBC) is looking to establish a framework agreement to carry out maintenance work on Public Rights of Way. It is anticipated that no more than three contractors will be appointed to the framework to carry out the contracted work.
There are approximately 1,500 public rights of way within the County Borough which amounts to 850km. The Public Rights of Way section installs approximately 150 galvanised pedestrian gates, 100 stiles and 150 signposts annually. In addition to this, ditch crossings and small footbridges are installed together with the installation of handrails and steps and path clearance work.
In addition to the general maintenance work which can include some strimming, 145,005 metres of strimming is carried out across the County Borough in May, July and late August averaging approximately 48,335 metres of strimming per month. Contractors have the option of whether they wish to tender for this work and need to be aware that some of the paths are located in rural areas where vehicular access is not always possible. Contractors can be expected to walk up to 5 or 10 minutes to reach part of a path that requires strimming.
In November of each year approximately 25 paths will also need to be cleared of leaf litter.
