Lived Experience Commissioning Support
- NHS England
Procurement identifier (OCID): ocds-h6vhtk-0607a4
Description
NHS East of England is procuring a Lived Experience Commissioning Support service to involve individuals with first-hand experience of the criminal justice system in shaping health and justice services. This supports NHS England's statutory duty under Section 13Q to involve patients and the public in commissioning, ensuring services are inclusive, effective, and informed by real experiences ahead of new provider contracts starting on 1 April 2026.
The service will be procured via a Mini Competition under the Lived Experience Framework (AG23606/LEF). NHS East of England intends to utilise all relevant sub-lots within the framework, covering a broad spectrum of service areas, including:
• Adult male and female prisons
• Immigration Removal Centres (IRCs)
• Non-custodial services (e.g. Liaison & Diversion, Mental Health)
• Community-based Health & Justice
• Veterans' mental health and justice services
• Armed Forces community support
• Sexual assault and abuse services
• Children and Young People in secure settings (Justice and Welfare)
• Vulnerable children and young people in the community
• Learning disability, neurodiversity, and autism (including Care and Treatment Reviews)
This Mini Competition route enables NHS East of England to define specific local requirements across these areas, ensuring bids are tailored and responsive. By using all applicable sub-lots, the region can ensure comprehensive coverage of lived experience input across all key pathways in health and justice commissioning.
