Description

This contract aims to appoint a Supplier(s) of Digital Aerial Surveys DAS coupled with airborne LiDAR to collect data on the abundance and distribution of seabirds and marine mammals, and to provide altitude data for birds in flight. This will provide data to address evidence gaps that have been identified for specific species, areas (including within offshore wind farms), and times of year. The outputs from these surveys will be made publicly available through an Open Government License, or equivalent, and it is anticipated that they will be published on The Crown Estate's Marine Data Exchange. This tender has been divided into two lots, which share the same CPV code, location, evaluation criteria, and conditions, and are suitable for SME&VCSEs. Lot 1- Autumn and Winter Survey A minimum of six LiDAR-coupled DAS surveys completed during the contract, with a minimum of three surveys completed in the autumn months (from 8th September to 30th November 2025), and a minimum of three surveys completed in the winter months (from 1st December 2025 to 28th February 2026). Estimated Extension End Date on 31st May 2026 The extension is reserved for unforeseen weather conditions. Lot 2 - Summer and Spring Survey A minimum of six LiDAR-coupled DAS surveys completed during the contract, with a minimum of three surveys completed in the spring months (from 1st March to 31st May 2026), and a minimum of three surveys completed in the summer months (from 1st June to 31st August 2026). Estimated Extension End Date on 30th Nov. 2026 The extension is reserved for unforeseen weather conditions. Due to a system error, the option to select lots could not be used. As a result, all information relating to the lots has been entered here.
