Description
Repairs and maintenance to the Council's operational estate. This is a temporary contract for up to 2 years. However, the Council is planning to procure a longer term contract in 2027.
The Council published a Transparency Notice on 19 October 2026.
Direct Award Justification: Extreme and unavoidable urgency
This agreement is for the repairs and maintenance of the Council's operational estate including the Manchester Town Hall. The refurbishment of the Town Hall has had urgent and unforeseen challenges which in turn have impacted the refurbishment timetable and when the Council is in a position to go out to market.
This agreement is for up to 2 years.
The Council expects to commence a procurement in 2027 following Practical Completion of the Town Hall and has published an associated Pipeline Notice: https://www.find-tender.service.gov.uk/Notice/098382-2026
