This is a market engagement exercise to inform the development of Hampshire County Council's procurement strategy for vehicle fuels.

Hampshire County Council is carrying out a market engagement exercise to assist in understanding the alternative vehicle fuel options that are available to reduce carbon emissions, nitrogen oxide and particulate matter, whilst also ensuring best value compared to diesel fuels.

Registration and completion of this questionnaire does not constitute an expression of interest in any tender as it is not a Selection Questionnaire (SQ). Responses will not be used to evaluate your company, create a shortlist or guarantee inclusion or exclusion from any resulting tender exercise. Suppliers will be neither advantaged nor disadvantaged by responding to the questionnaire.

This exercise is to obtain feedback to inform the County Council's procurement strategy only. Any subsequent tender which may be issued will require formal registration and appropriate assessment.

two.2.4) Description of the procurement

Hampshire County Council has five (5) operational depot locations with bunkered diesel fuel in Hampshire. These five depots are located at:

• Bishops Waltham

• Hook

• Micheldever

• Petersfield

• Totton.

Each of these locations has a 22,000 litre above ground double bunded fuel tank with fuel use GPS telemetry systems. The fuel at these locations is used by a wide variety of County Council and sub-contractors' vehicles.

A total of just over 1 million litres of fuel is drawn per annum across these five sites, with the winter months being a particularly busy period due to the dedicated gritters using a lot more fuel.

The estimated number of deliveries of fuel a year for each location is shown in below:

• Bishops Waltham: 28 deliveries a year

• Hook: 20 deliveries a year

• Micheldever: 19 deliveries a year

• Petersfield: 14 deliveries a year

• Totton: 19 deliveries a year.

HOW YOU CAN CONTRIBUTE

The purpose of this market engagement exercise is to ask suppliers of vehicle fuels what options are available to the County Council to replace diesel fuel with cost-effective alternative renewable fuels. The questionnaire should only be completed if you currently supply one or more of the following vehicle fuels:

• renewable hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) fuel

• any blended HVO fuel products

• any other renewable fuels.
