The requirement is for the provision of an Occupational Therapy Equipment Maintenance Contract throughout the Western Isles covering:

- Twice-yearly overhauling, servicing, checking and general maintenance of various bath lifts, stair lifts, ceiling track hoists, riser-recliner chairs, changing tables as listed

- Replacement of defective fittings and components as instructed

- Inspection and written report on equipment

- Reactive response to repairs within 24 hours of notification throughout the Western Isles.

The routine inspections shall be carried out twice a year; August/September and February/March of each year.

Locations: Council Properties, residential homes, private dwellings and Community Equipment Service Stores throughout the Western Isles.

PVG Scheme (Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007)

This contract will involve dealings with vulnerable people and handling sensitive information. All operatives must be PVG Scheme checked – Basic Disclosure - prior to commencement of the contract.

Please confirm that operatives (including sub-contractors) will be registered or will be PVG Scheme checked – Basic Disclosure. (Note evidence of registration or check will only be sought from the successful tenderer on award of contract).

Asbestos Awareness

It will be a requirement of participation in this contract that Tenderers can provide evidence that all operatives (including sub-contractors) undertaking any installations have received the appropriate Asbestos Awareness Training.

three.1.3) Technical and professional ability

List and brief description of selection criteria

Maintenance of Stannah Stairlifts

Our stairlifts are manufactured primarily by Stannah and the successful tenderer (including any sub-contractors) will require approved training before undertaking any maintenance. Stannah have a training centre in Sheffield, a course lasts approx 4 days.

The successful tenderer must have operatives who are trained in the installation, servicing and maintenance of this specific equipment.

Please confirm that operatives (including sub-contractors) will be trained as service engineers for Stannah Stairlift installation, servicing and maintenance. (Note evidence of training will only be sought from the successful tenderer on award of contract).
